tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-82270050604392771192011-04-21T17:40:32.634-07:00YEP Cambodia 08http://www.blogger.com/profile/13325032610709613360noreply@blogger.comBlogger21100tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8227005060439277119.post-19924940420237076432008-08-11T19:56:00.000-07:002008-08-12T00:11:59.693-07:00<span style="color:#996633;"><em>Details on Metta Student Day Care Centre@ Bedok </em>(located at Void Deck) <br /></span>-For the Pre-Comm trip, it is a half day afternoon prog with Metta students (we will plan and organise the activities for them, so we must do a good job) <br />- As requested and agreed, we will conduct a fire drill,some basic first aid training and game activities. <br />-For the cards making session, another group of nursing students(not from our YEP team, however, we will still help them) <br /><span style="color:#66cccc;"></span> <br /><span style="color:#663333;">About Metta Centre <br /></span><span style="color:#006600;">-There are abt 50 to 60 childrens(mostly primary children) </span> <br /><span style="color:#006600;">- There are abt 3 to 4 "Metta Teachers" <br />-The students do not wear their shoes inside the centre(For the fire drill, they will not put on their shoes and they will need to wash their feet before coming back to the centre) </span> <br /><span style="color:#006600;"> <br /></span><strong><span style="color:#000099;">Work Flow on 22 Aug</span></strong> (all members must participate) <br /></strong>-Gather all Metta students at their ''hall" which is inside their centre <br />-The "fire" team will brief them (the purpose of doing this exercise, where/how to exit?etc) <br />-After the fire briefing,we will have some activities like simple games to keep them occupy so we can do our last min preparation before we sounded the siren. <br />-Once the siren sounded(will use a 'small' loudhailer) prob for 2 mins. Team members must do according to ur assigned duties (for eg crowd control, usher, attendance-taker etc will discuss more this fri) <br />- We will guide and ensure all students have been evacuated from the centre safely and orderly <br />-The gathering place will be at the pavilion (outside the void deck, a short walk fr the centre) <br />- Once they reach the pavilion, they must be seated on the ground. (head count and check attendance with Metta teachers) <br />-The "fire" team to conclude the end of the drill <br />-Nursing students will "demo" some basic first aid training(bandages for diff types of wound injury etc or we can pretend to be casualty for the demo) <br />-Finally, the cards making sessions by another group of nursing students. <br /> <br /><span style="color:#330099;"><em>Agenda for 15 Aug Briefing</em> <br /></span><span style="color:#006600;">1) The" f<em>ire" &amp; nursing team to share with us their plan /procedure</em></span> <br />Some games activities for Metta students ( do brainstorm beforehand)</span> <br /><span style="color:#006600;">To take note:</span> <br /><span style="color:#006600;">: 50 to 60 students (need to break them into grp of 10? or 8? easier to handle) <br />: Duration abt 20 minutes before we start the fire drill (caught them unware) <br />: There are </span><span style="color:#006600;">2 classrooms (a small one can accomodate abt 10 people) &amp; slightly bigger one(ard 18 people) <br />: can also use their "hall" (just beside the main door) to play games / simple paper folding like a star or ??brainstorming...) <br />: space along the "corridors" inside the centre (a bit cramped though) <br />: 1 computer room (got some space available)</span> <br /><span style="color:#006600;">2) Assign roles for team members (discuss more this fri) </span> <br /><span style="color:#006600;">3) Any other business (propose to have chatbox on the blog? clothes/ stationery drive?</span><span style="color:#006600;">) <br /></span><strong>( Do brainstorm beforehand for game activities and role u want to play on 22 Aug and share ur ideas on this fri.See u all at 5pm.) <br /></strong> <br /><em>For Nurisng Students </em> <br />** The nursing students (any 2 who had gone for first aid training .I need to submit the first aid training certificate for our team) .Pls bring ur certificates and i will photocopy.
